Jesus told those after Him to make disciples of men, Spirit-disciplined and devoted men who would walk out the plans of God (Matthew 28:19). This commission is the foundation of HIM’s Discipleship Ministry.

HIM disciples train in order to carry out the plan and purpose of God for their individual lives and the Body of Christ as a whole. As a disciple, there is a plan, training, and commitment involved. In HIM, leadership will work closely with you to train and assist you in walking out the plan of God for your life and the Body. Training in any area is rarely easy, which makes discipleship one of the most challenging areas of ministry, however, the results far outweigh the work for all involved.

Training here at HIM does not replace the guidance that one receives from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Sprit is to be our primary teacher! The leaders at HIM place the highest value on personal guidance from The Spirit. And through His guidance they function as examples by their service to those who are learning progressively to be led by The Holy Spirit.

God gave you Himself to be your everything, and He will never be displaced by even the best leadership. Though, leadership is a great gift! It is a gift of others who are active in their relationships and can now offer you what they have found in God. This empowers you to excel more quickly. Leadership is appointed by God to train you, coach you in walking out your purpose, and to evaluate your development every step of the way. God demands an answer of leadership for your very life and expects that leadership offer their lives for you (Ezekiel 34:2-15, John 10). Jesus set the standard in John 10 giving us an understanding of the seriousness He gives to shepherding His sheep and giving Himself for them. We have adopted the same level of seriousness to this important role.
